
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who visit for their health routine or for life-defining health decisions.
The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established procedures.
This role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence through skillful, safe, and accurate specimen collection.
The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality and patient information.
Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Perform with confidence both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm labeling accuracy.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Travel to multiple locations as needed and provide coverage with minimal notice.
Requirement/Must Have:
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Commitment to company policies, dress code, health and safety, and guiding principles.
Strong decision-making and judgment skills.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
Qualification And Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience:
Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Minimum two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience required.
