Structural Engineer 2
Position Overview:
We are seeking a
Structural Engineer 2
with
5-7 years of heavy industrial/power plant experience
and an
accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering . The ideal candidate will provide structural engineering services, field support, and technical expertise for various projects. Key Responsibilities:
Provide structural engineering services and field support. Prepare designs, calculations, and technical documentation. Conduct site walk-downs of construction sites. Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs. Contribute to project scheduling and staffing input. Produce and review structural steel design calculations and drawings. Required Skills & Expertise:
Strong knowledge of
structural steel and concrete design principles
and industry methodologies. Significant experience in
structural steel connection design . Proficiency with
structural codes and standards . Extensive knowledge of
heavy industrial structures and components . Strong computer skills, including proficiency in
STAAD PRO, MathCAD , and other structural computer programs. Familiarity with
OSHA regulations . Ability to
manage multiple small to mid-sized, single or multi-discipline projects . Experience performing
structural inspections and writing technical reports . Strong
problem-solving and decision-making
abilities. Ability to build effective relationships with
plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors . Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineering (PE) registration
(a plus, but not required). Working knowledge of ANSYS . Experience in transmission structure design
