Job Title Associate Director, Sales Training – Migraine
Job Description The Associate Director, Sales Training, Migraine collaborates closely with the Director of Sales Training, the Sales Training team, Sales Leadership, and Brand Leadership to recommend and direct strategic and tactical training for the U.S. Commercial Migraine Sales organization. This position supports the current Migraine portfolio and develops training for the pipeline. The Associate Director works closely with Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Business Human Resources, and Talent Acquisition, and is comfortable with cross‑functional team structures and collaboration.
Main Areas of Responsibility Financial
Oversee training curriculum and programs to ensure effectiveness, adherence to budget, and contribution to top‑line sales for the Migraine franchise.
Sales Training
Lead, support, and develop the Migraine Training team, including corporate‑based sales trainers on‑site and remote.
Create an inclusive environment where direct reports are valued and can reach full potential.
Plan curriculum and collaborate with Sales Training, the Marketing team, and Sales Leadership on development, RDDM/NM, and related projects.
Ensure training content supports brand and organizational goals and adheres to compliance guidelines.
Assess training needs of the field force and support long‑term professional development.
Develop sales trainers, facilitating growth in facilitation, project management, and coaching.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of field sales experience and 5 years of field management/leadership in the pharmaceutical industry.
Proven ability to build and lead diverse, high‑performing teams.
Expert knowledge of Sales Leadership and Leadership Development.
Experience developing and leading high‑potential sales professionals.
Minimum 2 years of headquarters (corporate) experience.
Experience with the Medical Regulatory Process (MRP).
Preference for depth of migraine experience and training experience.
Proficient written and verbal communication, facilitation skills, and ability to engage cross‑functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree.
Location & Compensation Position located in Florham Park, NJ, AbbVie corporate office. Hybrid: three days onsite (Tuesday‑Thursday) and two days remote (Monday & Friday). Compensation includes a base pay range that may vary by location and other factors. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k). The role is eligible for short‑term incentive programs.
