Position Summary As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Vertiv, you will be responsible for designing and developing functional, manufacturable products and solutions to meet customer needs. You will work on both straightforward and complex projects, requiring persistence, creativity, and practical problem‑solving. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings for sheet metal enclosures and other components using Autodesk Inventor and other software.
Collaborate with sales, product development, project managers, and other colleagues and industry leaders to design products and solutions that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
Interface with manufacturing teams, external vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs and drawings align with manufacturing capabilities.
Coordinate with other teams and departments to create and develop instructions and other support documentation for both customer and standard products.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and design issues, contribute to their resolution—hands‑on when necessary—and apply lessons learned to drive future improvements.
Qualifications
Associate degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
2–4 years of engineering experience in sheet metal design, manufacturing, or other technical work experience.
Proficiency in 3D modeling; Autodesk Inventor preferred.
Strong communication skills with ability to work efficiently, both independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
Experience designing for manufacturing processes including laser cutting, punch press, press brake, welding, and powder coating.
Experience working in a customer‑focused, engineered‑to‑order (ETO) environment.
Experience in information communication technology (ICT) industry, data centers or other technology infrastructure design.
Mechanical inclination or manufacturing experience.
Experience with Autodesk i logic, VisualBasic.NET (VB.NET), Python, C# or C++.
Understanding of ICT industry standards and regulatory requirements.
