What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) > Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases supporting mission systems.
Monitor and tune database performance to ensure optimal efficiency and high availability.
Develop, test, and implement database backup and recovery strategies to support continuity of operations.
Collaborate with application developers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to integrate database services securely.
Troubleshoot complex database and application integration issues, providing tier III support as needed.
What is Required (Qualifications)
Must possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible for IT‑I (Tier 5/SSBI) / Critical Sensitive access. U.S. Citizenship required.
Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Five (5) or more years of progressive experience managing enterprise database systems using Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
Three (3) or more years of hands‑on experience in Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) administration.
Proficiency in Oracle 19c or later, including configuration, security, and performance optimization in enterprise environments.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Additional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or AWS Database Specialty.
Five (5) years of hands‑on experience supporting DoD IT hosting or enterprise database solutions.
Expertise with Oracle 19c+ installation, tuning, and management in cloud and on‑premise environments.
Familiarity with database performance monitoring and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or custom scripts.
Ability to mentor junior DBAs and collaborate across multi‑disciplinary teams in a mission‑focused environment.
