Position Purpose
Central Investment Advisors (CIA) provides non‑deposit investment products to the holding company customer base throughout the entire company footprint. CIA employs approximately 38 financial advisors and 15 sales assistants, providing brokerage and advisory services to clients with assets under management totaling $4+ billion. Products include individual stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, bonds, fixed and variable annuities, insurance and advisory accounts.
Duties, Scope, Responsibilities & Authority Financial Advisors provide investment advice, portfolio analysis, and trade execution tailored to each client's goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance, using products such as stocks, mutual funds, bonds, annuities, and advisory models. They review client portfolios, prioritize clients' best interests, recommend bank products when appropriate, maintain client records, and document all interactions via Clientworks and Redtail. Advisors follow referral programs, build networks through community involvement, and maintain expertise via independent study and research tools such as Wealth Vision, Morningstar Workstation, Argus, and Advisory World. They comply with company and broker‑dealer policies, complete required compliance and continuing education (Anti‑Money Laundering, FINRA training), and record client communications. Additional duties include managing monthly reports, attending meetings, collaborating with bank branches for referrals, and providing basic banking assistance related to brokerage accounts. Advisors are prohibited from processing certain banking transactions; non‑compliance may lead to disciplinary actions.
Experience, Education and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline (preferred)
3–5 years brokerage experience (preferred)
Series 7, 63 & 65 licenses required
Life and health insurance licenses required if not currently licensed
Certified Financial Planner designation highly recommended
Strong desire to succeed in a highly competitive industry
Exceptional listening, customer‑service, and client‑relations skills
Effective spoken and written communication skills
Strong PC skills
Self‑starter with initiative to begin projects independently
