General Description: The Personal Risk Specialist is an outside sales position focused on serving the unique insurance needs of affluent/high net worth clients. The role includes cross‑selling and establishing additional sources of clients.
Responsibilities
Schedule appointments and visit with high net worth individuals to understand lifestyle, concerns and unique insurance needs, and provide consultative risk‑management solutions.
Achieve new business sales goals on an annual basis.
Develop lists of prospective centers of influence and lead sources in the target market.
Penetrate assigned prospects using engagement platform with lawyers, financial advisors, realtors, and other professionals serving affluent segment.
Identify and overcome sales obstacles on a prospect‑specific basis.
Develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies and communications to optimize USI’s market position.
Meet external centers of influence to prospect, engage, and serve as a value‑added service to their clients.
Build strong relationships and win confidence of Commercial Lines and Employee Benefits staff.
Position as a trusted partner and advisor to clients and prospects.
Support cross‑selling for existing and new clients.
Participate in and lead meetings with existing and prospect clients.
Maintain employee and prospect data, build prospect lists in USI CRM and sales‑tracking tools.
Prepare proposals for Personal Risk Management clients and prospects; research, draft responses, present personalized programs.
Requires flexible schedule – some evening hours.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ideal candidate has at least 3 years in high‑net‑worth or personal insurance sales/service.
Outstanding written and oral skills.
Must have personal lines insurance industry experience.
Travel 50% or more, meet clients.
Teamwork with minimal supervision.
Highly motivated, goal‑oriented, organized individual driver to meet sales targets.
Customer service skills applicable to sales process.
Strong knowledge of carriers and personal insurance market.
Commit to mutual objectives of Personal Insurance Practice and Regional Office.
College degree preferred; high‑school diploma or equivalent required.
Active property‑casualty license required (or obtained within 60 days).
Proficient in MS Office suite.
