We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our Kinetics Group. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and exhibit a passion for machinery design and analysis. In this role, you will contribute to the technical assessment of a wide variety of systems—from large operable elements for sports and industrial facilities to small intricate mechanisms for art installations. A successful applicant will develop skills under the mentorship of licensed engineers. Responsibilities
Machinery Analysis and Design: Collaborate with the engineering team to analyze and design mechanical systems, ensuring performance and safety standards. Technical Writing: Communicate analysis results and recommendations through clear reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. CAD Software Proficiency: Create mechanical designs using 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Critical Thinking: Evaluate mechanical systems methodically, troubleshooting and resolving issues with attention to detail. Field Work and Observation: Occasionally travel for on-site assessments and data gathering in varied environments. Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers to research industry codes and standards, review documentation, and prepare field notes, technical reports, and presentations. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred). Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Strong interest in machinery design and analysis. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably Inventor or SolidWorks. Strong technical writing skills. Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Willingness to travel for field work and observations. Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $75,000 – $87,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law and is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary. Benefits
