The Town of Taos (NM) is offering a full-time position with a salary of $35,458.00 annually at the Taos Youth & Family Center, NM. The job number is 202400013 and is under the Parks & Recreation Department, specifically the Recreation Division. The job involves a variety of entry level administrative, operations, maintenance, and technical duties to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Taos Youth & Family Center, Gymnasium, Taos Skate Park, and Taos Ice Arena including facilities and grounds. The role works under close to general supervision of the Recreation Division Manager, Recreation Specialist IV, Recreation Specialist III, or Recreation Specialist II as assigned. Assignments are given daily and work is reviewed frequently. There is no supervision exercised over others. Essential functions include performing general customer services and problem solving, educating patrons and citizens regarding operations, programs, policies, and procedures; assisting to deliver presentations to school groups to promote activities and events; responding to citizen requests; facilitating and assisting patrons in programs and special events; assisting with office activities and duties; performing custodial, landscaping, and janitorial duties; researching, developing, and establishing new programs and activities; documenting revenues; performing miscellaneous duties; and performing first aid, CPR, and utilizing AED as required. The position also involves removing bio-hazard materials and performing duties at other facilities. Minimum qualifications include graduation from high school or GED, some knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures typical of a government agency or recreation facility, some skill in monitoring activities and enforcing safety rules, ability to learn and operate office equipment, and special qualifications such as American Red Cross CPR, AED, and Community First Aid certification. The work environment includes noisy recreation indoor and outdoor environments with sudden temperature changes, exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, and pathogens. Incumbents must occasionally move up to 100 pounds and periodically push or pull in excess of 1,000 lbs. with the aid of rollers.
