Overview Produce clerks are responsible for ensuring that the grocery store's fruits and vegetables are displayed orderly and pleasantly to the customers. Responsibilities

Stock products and maintain orderly and attractive produce displays.

Provide customer service, answer questions, and assist customers with their produce needs.

Handle and manage food and maintain equipment; provide general help to other store employees as needed.

Train in customer service functions, camera and video monitoring, and POS systems checkout.

Work in fast-paced environment while providing customer service and creating excellent product detail while maintaining department cleanliness.

Handle and order inventory, as well as utilize FIFO strategies.

Operate deli equipment as needed (e.g., slicers, scales, cutting tools) where appropriate.

Unload trucks and store all products in designated coolers and storage areas using the FIFO method.

Maintain cleanliness of the produce storeroom by routinely cleaning and sanitizing surfaces according to health code regulations.

Lift and move boxes of various weights; RF scan items and stow in bins to be picked for orders.

Process daily inventory requests, price changes, and signing using Telxon.

Qualifications They must have relevant experience in stocking grocery stores and handling product presentation and should have concrete knowledge in the rotation and maintenance of the store's produce.
