Credentialing Specialist Pay:
Up to $60,000 annually, depending on experience About Our Client: Our client is a respected healthcare group supporting a network of over 60 providers, including surgeons and physician assistants, who practice at 18 hospitals. They are seeking a skilled and proactive Credentialing Specialist to join their team full time onsite in Naperville. This role plays a critical part in maintaining licensing compliance and managing credentialing operations in partnership with a third-party vendor. Job Description: The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for full-cycle provider credentialing, re-credentialing, and licensing maintenance, while serving as the main liaison with their credentialing vendor. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in private practice credentialing and be familiar with regulatory bodies and credentialing platforms. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage provider recredentialing, license renewals, and CME compliance. Monitor and maintain accurate records related to lawsuits, malpractice tracking, and controlled substance licensure. Oversee NPDB (National Practitioner Data Bank) verifications and related credentialing documentation. Collaborate with Medical Risk Services and ensure timely reporting. Work directly with third-party credentialing vendor (e.g., Catalyst) to delegate and follow up on tasks. Ensure all providers meet the requirements for valid licensure, training, and certifications. Maintain familiarity with ISME, PECOS, and CAQH systems. Proactively communicate with providers for documentation needs. Attend internal meetings, stay updated on industry standards, and support continuous improvement in credentialing processes. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in credentialing (private practice or MD staff preferred; vendor or hospital credentialing considered). Experience working with third-party credentialing companies (e.g., Catalyst). Knowledge of credentialing-related systems: CAQH, PECOS, NPDB. Familiarity with ISME and NAMSS; NAMSS certification preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Strong references required to speak to work quality and performance.
