Responsibilities
Perform standard penetrometer testing operations, including boring and Geoprobe work. Operate Geoprobe unit for the collection of soil and Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data. Complete drilling operations by operating the drill (rotary, churn, and pneumatic); monitor progress; adjust bit weight and rotary speed; change bits; remove debris; operate related equipment (gasoline, diesel, electric, or steam draw works). Locate borings in the field. Record all required drilling data. Report project-specific issues directly to the project manager and/or supervisor. Perform drill rig and support truck maintenance; report repair and maintenance issues to the Drilling Supervisor. Troubleshoot mechanical problems, including electrical or hydraulic issues. Safely and accurately load the drill rig and support vehicles with daily supplies. Plan daily schedules to meet productivity goals set by the Drilling Supervisor and/or Office Manager. Accurately complete time sheets and field paperwork in a timely manner. Care for and clean assigned company vehicles and drilling equipment and any other assigned equipment. Maintain professional behavior and uphold quality standards. Train and mentor Drilling Helper and Drillers. Maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound work environment by following organizational standards and legal regulations; prevent spills; wear personal protective equipment; store and maintain hazardous materials. Willingness to work out of town and on non-standard work schedules when required. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. 5 – 8 years of experience. Class A CDL preferred. Position requires carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting up to 85 lbs to waist height. About Us
