Job Description Mechanical Engineer – Mechanical & Utilities Process Technology Responsibilities • Provide quality design and support for utilities systems (compressed air, chilled water, steam, hot oil, process, and other mechanical) at Eastman sites • Lead engineering studies and perform calculations/evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for mechanical utilities at manufacturing sites • Develop mechanical designs and specifications that form the basis for placing purchase order for equipment and contracts for installation of the equipment and systems • Recommend operating and maintenance practices for mechanical equipment • Participate in commissioning of new and modified systems • Perform fluid flow modeling and troubleshooting • Develop and maintain utilities distribution models • Manage projects effectively and efficiently • Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned capital projects • Provide consultation and guidance related to utilities, for operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel at Eastman sites • Mentor and provide guidance for less experienced engineers • Provide leadership and contribute to applicable engineering standards Qualifications • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering • Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred • 5+ years relevant professional experience in Mechanical Engineering preferred • Familiar with relevant regulations, standards, and codes such as ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, etc • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Travel • Some periodic travel (domestic & international) may be required Making job hunting smarter, faster, and way more fun.
