Base Pay Range $70,000.00/yr – $80,000.00/yr
Benefits

Responsibilities
Design and develop structures, subassemblies, and mechanical components of truck and trailer bodies or ambulances using CAD software (Solid Edge, SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor preferred).
Create detailed 3D models of sheet metal parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings with appropriate tolerances and material specifications.
Perform engineering calculations and analyses (structural, load, and performance) to validate designs.
Support production through technical drawings, BOMs, process documentation, and engineering change management.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality departments to ensure design intent is maintained through production.
Review and improve existing designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and durability.
Research materials, components, and manufacturing methods for potential implementation in future designs.
Participate in prototype builds and testing to evaluate design performance and validate design changes.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and customer standards.
Provide technical support for field issues and product improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
3-5 years of prior work experience within a manufacturing setting outside of college or internships
Software experience required: Solid Edge, SolidWorks
MS Office product knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Epicor ERP
Able to responsibly handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, and structural analysis
Knowledge of materials (steel, aluminum, composites) and their applications in vehicle manufacturing
Understanding of structural adhesives and their uses
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, forming, and assembly
Experience with Epicor ERP systems a plus
Work Environment Manufacturing work environment that may at times provide exposure to weather, noise intensity level, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
Physical Demands
Routine sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers to type, turn handles, feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, reach, and stretch
Occasional movement around the office and entry into manufacturing areas
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Occasional lifting or moving up to 30 lbs
