
Overview
Property Manager The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a multi-family property. This includes coordinating leasing activity, ensuring ongoing property maintenance, supporting resident relations, and maintaining accurate financial and operational records. The role requires a blend of administrative skill, operational oversight, and customer service expertise to ensure both resident satisfaction and property performance. Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the general operations, maintenance, and administration of one or more properties.
Support the planning and coordination of repairs, ongoing upkeep, and any renovation or construction projects.
Oversee financial functions, including rent collection, expense tracking, and assistance payments, where applicable.
Conduct regular property inspections to assess condition and identify maintenance needs.
Serve as a liaison between residents, site staff, vendors, and ownership or senior management.
Conduct property tours for prospective residents, explain lease terms, and highlight community features.
Implement marketing and leasing strategies to reduce vacancy and maintain high occupancy levels.
Maintain organized and accurate property records, including service requests, operating costs, and regulatory documentation.
Communicate and enforce community guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Manage resident concerns and service requests professionally, ensuring prompt resolution.
Perform additional duties as required to support successful property operations.
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High-level interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Effective leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to train and support site staff.
Solid understanding of property management principles, industry regulations, and best practices.
Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent tools).
Education and Experience
3–5 years of experience in property management or a related field required.
Experience with residential leasing, maintenance oversight, and resident communications preferred.
Knowledge of affordable housing programs, where applicable, is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
Must occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
Ability to walk properties, including stair access and outdoor conditions, in a variety of weather environments.
