Role Overview The Senior Mergers & Acquisitions Strategist is responsible for leading and managing the evaluation, pricing, and negotiation of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for GBS. This senior‑level position will act as a trusted buy‑side advisor, preparing indications of interest and non‑binding term sheets, while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in financial analysis, deal structuring, and negotiation, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders. Additionally, this position will also be involved in the financial due diligence and integration of merger partners acquired by GBS.
Responsibilities
Pricing and Valuation: Conduct detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis and valuation of potential acquisition targets using comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and other methodologies to assess synergies, risks, and value drivers.
Negotiation and Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations with target companies and their advisors, preparing and presenting indications of interest and non‑binding term sheets, and collaborating with legal teams to structure transaction terms.
Buy‑side Advisory: Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on potential acquisitions, aligning M&A activities with strategic goals.
Financial Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive financial due diligence, analyzing financial statements, projections, and key performance indicators.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, operations, HR, IT, and external advisors to ensure a seamless M&A process.
Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing process improvements.
About You Required
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience.
Strong analytical skills.
Well‑rounded commercial and economic awareness and understanding of the financial markets.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
8+ years in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and deal negotiation.
Strong understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance considerations in M&A transactions.
Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility in terms of working hours, occasional travel.
Insurance or insurance brokerage industry experience is a plus.
MBA, CFA, and/or CPA candidate or certification is preferred.

Compensation And Benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including previous experience, education, pay market/geography, and scope.
