Overview
The Manager of Material Handling & Cleanroom Support leads a team of Material Handlers and Cleaning Crew associates who directly support sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role focuses on
people leadership, performance management, and project execution
to ensure that all material movement, cleanroom transfers, and cleaning tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP standards. The manager does not need prior pharmaceutical or GMP experience but must bring
proven success in managing teams in fast-paced environments
(manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, or similar) and a track record of delivering results through people. Key Responsibilities
Supervise a team of Material Handlers and Cleaning Crew associates across shifts. Assign daily work, set clear expectations, and monitor task completion. Coach, train, and mentor team members to build skills and accountability. Conduct regular performance evaluations and manage employee relations. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance requirements. Operational Oversight
Oversee material handling tasks, including unloading pallets, staging materials, and supporting tub loading for filling lines. Manage material transfers into classified areas, ensuring staff follow SOPs, aseptic techniques, and PPE requirements. Ensure timely and accurate completion of cleanroom cleaning schedules, documentation, and logbooks. Coordinate staffing and resources to support 24/7 operations as needed. Lead small-scale projects and initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance, or safety within material handling and cleaning operations. Track progress against timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics. Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Facilities) to resolve issues and support continuous improvement. Requirements
Proven experience in people management
(manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, production, or related industries). Demonstrated ability to
deliver results on projects or process improvements . Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive, safety-first culture. Flexibility to support a 24/7 shift-based manufacturing operation. Preferred (not required)
Exposure to regulated industries, cleanroom operations, or GMP environments. Seniority level
