About Us Morgan Philips Group are presently representing a creator and manufacturer of leading‑edge medical devices with a presence in over 60 countries. They are searching for a Sales and Business Development Manager to join their division in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Opportunity With a dual reporting line to both the CEO and Marketing Director, the successful candidate will lead the growth and management of a network of 1099 independent sales representatives in the medical device sector. This is a hands‑on role responsible for identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and supporting independent reps to drive the expansion of the client’s footprint. This position is ideal for someone with deep experience in the 1099 sales model, strong organizational and leadership skills, and a passion for building high‑performance sales networks from the ground up. Travel of roughly 20‑30% is required.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and recruit experienced 1099 independent sales representatives and rep groups across the U.S.

Develop and manage the onboarding process, ensuring reps are fully equipped to sell and support company products.

Create and implement scalable strategies for supporting, training, and engaging the independent sales force.

Establish rep agreements, manage compliance, and maintain performance standards.

Serve as the main point of contact for all 1099 reps, providing regular communication, resources, and support.

Monitor rep activity and performance using CRM tools and performance metrics.

Work closely with internal teams (marketing, customer service, operations) to ensure reps are aligned with company goals and have the materials they need to succeed.

Travel as needed for onboarding, relationship management, and participation in industry conferences and trade shows.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in medical device or healthcare sales, with a focus on managing 1099 independent reps.

Strong understanding of the 1099 sales model, including contracts, compliance, and rep motivation.

Proven ability to recruit, train, and manage independent sales teams.

Experience with corporate quality systems and corporate marketing.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

Comfortable working independently and managing a distributed network.

Organized, self‑motivated, and results‑oriented.

Willingness to travel as necessary.
