The opportunity EY Private Tax is a growing practice focused on serving privately held companies, from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. These high-growth private companies provide challenging tax planning and compliance work. The team offers opportunities to progress toward senior manager with strong training and mentorship from experienced colleagues. Your key responsibilities Support senior managers through partners in providing tax services, balancing time between compliance and planning with direct interaction with clients. Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting for cross-border tax compliance (foreign partnerships, foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, and foreign affiliate reporting). Provide tax research, draft tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers. Liaise and build relationships with other service lines and subject matter professionals. Build effective long-term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs to provide tailored service. Communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients. Maintain professional reputation by updating and sharing technical knowledge and best practices. Manage, coach and develop a team of tax professionals, review work, and ensure team has necessary tools and opportunities to excel. Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills And Attributes For Success To qualify for the role, you must have A bachelor's degree in a related field, with tax, business or financial planning experience. A CPA certification or membership in The Bar. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization. Willingness to work in a balanced hybrid environment and travel as needed. Ideally, you will have Commitment to continuing your learning. Proficiency with tax software (RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or Lexis Nexis). Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus. Experience in managing, coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
