About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Site Superintendent
to oversee multiple sustaining capital projects within a large industrial construction program. This role is responsible for managing on-site construction activities, ensuring strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, and supporting the Project Manager and Construction Management team to deliver successful project outcomes.
A current
MSHA certification
is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities Construction Oversight & Coordination
Supervise laydown areas, temporary facilities, and material storage logistics.
Coordinate and prioritize work across multiple contractors.
Manage daily on-site construction activities and ensure adherence to project objectives.
Enforce site safety and environmental compliance programs.
Administer QA/QC procedures and perform continuous quality inspections.
Attend and lead safety discussions during daily tailgate meetings.
Ensure contractors use the latest approved drawings and documentation.
Provide constructability input and monitor contractor progress, manpower, and equipment utilization.
Reporting & Documentation
Complete detailed
daily reports
summarizing work progress, weather, crew size, hours worked, and EHS data.
Prepare
weekly status reports
outlining key issues, milestones, and project updates.
Provide construction progress reports, QA/QC documentation, and schedule monitoring.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits with the site safety team.
Enforce all applicable site safety and environmental programs.
Ensure all work complies with strict permit and environmental requirements.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum
10 years of construction management experience
on large-scale projects.
Strong background in
civil and mechanical systems
(pumps, piping, structural, and industrial construction).
Minimum
5 years of supervisory experience
overseeing safety personnel.
Current MSHA certification .
Strong understanding of
OSHA
regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and WebGIS.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
OSHA 500 – Train the Trainer certification.
Experience in the phosphate, oil & gas, or process chemicals industries.
GSP (Graduate Safety Practitioner) certification.

Candidate must be available for work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
All candidates must provide their own PPE and maintain valid MSHA certification.
Contract Details
Contract Type: Full‑Time (50–75 hours per week, Monday–Saturday)
Contract Duration: 12 months with potential renewal based on project performance and funding
