Overview Ross is a Fortune 500, off‑price retail chain with 2,200+ stores. The role focuses on deterring theft and maintaining a safe environment for associates and customers.

Responsibilities General Purpose

Provide visible presence at store entrances/exits to deter theft and fraud, greet customers, and monitor the Code 50 package inspection policy.

Walk the sales floor to identify and address potential theft indicators as directed by store leadership.

Partner with store leadership to ensure compliance with loss prevention directives and reduce operational shortages.

Essential Functions

Maintain a safe environment by practicing safe behaviors, removing clutter, and ensuring clear egress to emergency exits.

Provide a prominent “command” presence, including greetings in company‑issued vest and black attire.

Deliver excellent customer service, treating all customers and associates respectfully.

Mitigate theft by monitoring entrances, identifying suspicious behavior, and communicating observations to leadership.

Reduce operational shortage by training associates on proper checkout procedures and shortage reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

High school education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.

One year of retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.

One year of loss prevention/security training preferred.

Active Security Guard License preferred.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Proven conflict resolution skills and compliance with applicable security regulations.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.

Must be able to lift or lower objects over 25 lbs. and bend, stoop, or crouch regularly.
