Responsible for providing exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley's mission statement and engaging customers with friendly and professional service. Knowledge of all Bank products and services, educating and demonstrating them to customers while cross‑selling various products. Present a confident and professional demeanor to establish trust, analyze needs and recommend appropriate products and services. Meet with customers to analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, open new accounts (checking, savings, CD, IRA), discuss/sell loan products, and promote online and mobile banking. Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards, oversee the sales referral process, and assist management in coaching and mentoring branch staff. Perform all customer transactions using appropriate technology, maintain and balance a cash box, and utilize teller scanning equipment, cash recycling/dispensing machines, and coin machines. Act as Vault Teller, ensuring branch cash adequacy, assisting in ordering and shipping currency, and distributing cash to tellers within prescribed limits. Assist in community events (e.g., Habitat for Humanity), and support CRA initiatives, activities, and programs. Report significant matters, issues, and unusual customer activity to the manager, staying knowledgeable of compliance and regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures. Required Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication, including writing correspondence and accurately demonstrating products and services. Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, and diplomacy with customers and employees. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills for resolving complex customer issues. Ability to make sound on‑the‑spot decisions regarding customer transactions, balancing satisfaction with risk and fraud considerations. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled form. Deep understanding of retail banking and strong customer service skills to engage customers about products and services. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient computer skills. Required Experience
High School diploma or GED and minimum one year of business services experience in branch banking with knowledge of branch operations, or successful completion of a Valley Retail training program. Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, business, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred. Preferred Experience
FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions).
