Job Overview Suburban Glass Mirror of Ridgewood Inc, a trusted name in glass and glazing for over 60 years, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Glass Estimator/Salesperson to join our established team. This dual-role position involves site visits, precise field measuring, estimating custom glass solutions, and closing deals with residential, commercial, and industrial clients. You’ll work directly with homeowners, contractors, and builders—blending technical knowledge with client-facing communication to deliver customized, high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct field measurements and job site surveys for glass, mirror, window, door, and specialty installations.

Provide product recommendations based on budget, design, code requirements, and project specifications.

Prepare detailed and competitive estimates using SmartGlazier (training provided), accounting for materials, labor, and installation.

Manage the full sales cycle—from bid presentation to signed contract—while upselling where appropriate.

Material procurement and ordering.

Clearly communicate technical details like glass types, lead times, warranties, and installation procedures.

Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure a smooth project handoff and customer satisfaction.

Represent the company at home shows, builder meetings, and industry events, cultivating strong lead pipelines.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in estimating and outside sales in the glass, window, door, or construction trades.

Demonstrated ability to measure accurately in diverse field conditions (heights, tight spaces, ladders).

Advanced knowledge of glass types, hardware, and installation methods across residential and commercial projects.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.

Strong communication skills—verbal and written— with a customer-first mindset.

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; company vehicle provided after probation.

Experience with SmartGlazier or other estimating software is preferred.
