The Residential Care Assistant is responsible for the overall cleanliness of individual apartments and common areas and assisting in the dietary department as wait staff during the lunch meal. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include routine cleaning of apartments and common areas, maintains and compiles reports and assists with emergencies as needed. Assists in the dietary department as wait staff during the lunch meal. Performs other duties as assigned. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Holidays may be required. Ability to perform general housekeeping duties. Skills Considered Essential for Success
Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education. Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations and procedures. Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment. Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team. Ability to make sound judgments. Effective interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational abilities. Civility in all interactions. Demonstrate effective follow-up. Required Education and/or Experience
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; each applicant must complete two weeks of agency training. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee. Preferred Education and/or Experience
Must be able to stoop and bend; lift and move custodial equipment, furniture and fixtures. Must have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications. Must have strong customer service skills and be multi-task oriented. Prior experience in housekeeping/custodial related position or working with senior adults preferred. Physical Demands Checklist
