A Day in the Life
This position is responsible for conducting commercial and trading activities associated with grain origination, product sales and marketing for a soybean processing facility
What You'll Be Doing
Communicate with farmer and elevator customers to originate grain and provide customer service
Service farmer customers in areas of market information, e-business, bids, hours, grade reporting and accounting issues in a proactive manner that exceeds expectations and builds strong relationships
Communicate with feed mills, livestock producers, brokers, and other buyers in marketing soybean meal and soyhull pellets
Build relationships with new and existing customers to grow origination and sales for the facility
Coordinate and assist in managing all logistics around inbound and outbound product flows
Create and communicate load order numbers for product loading to customers
Communicate plant issues affecting receiving or product loading to customers and internal groups
Facilitate and assist in the communication and exchange of business information and market conditions between local and corporate management in a timely and accurate manner
Evaluate and report changing crops and market conditions to appropriate company personnel in a timely and accurate manner
Work with hedging, spreads, and crush projections making sure daily position is accurate
Ensure accurate hedging to maintain plant margins and minimize risks
Assist in and gain knowledge on weekly margin projections
Check local competition and elevator bid structure ensuring Bunge is competitive
Ensure compliance of contracts
Review accounts receivable issues and assist in collecting as needed
Update bid sheet daily and distribute internally and externally
Help train and educate new merchants as needed
Attend all safety meetings
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture Economics, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in commodity merchandising or relevant experience. Prior experience within the agribusiness and/or food industry preferred
Strong interest in agribusiness, specifically soybean processing/refining operations
Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and CBOT
Sales knowledge and negotiations skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders with a focus on customer service
Ability to learn, prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced changing environment
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, market values, pricing and margin factors, highly preferred
Demonstrated problem solving, execution and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, changing environment
Proficient PC skills including Excel and Word
