Job description Presently accepting applications for a Full Time Activity Leader to work with residents in our long-term healthcare facility to enhance their quality of life by creating and providing multiple recreational activities
Responsibilities Learning new residents' leisure time interest needs and planning, and organizing and implementing recreational programs to meet the residents’ needs. Facilitating programing with other departments. Engaging residents in participating in group activities, and individual recreational activities, daily. Assisting with transporting residents to activities Documenting resident participation levels, and resident interests. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, every other weekend, and occasional holidays Must have good creative abilities, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills
Must be comfortable independently initiating and leading elders in music and exercise programs.
Desired traits and skills: Enthusiasm and positive attitude, high emotional intelligence, reliability, punctuality and time management skills. Ability to motivate others and lead by example, interact with residents with dementia and lead kinesthetic activities.
