The Assistant Dietary Manager assists in planning, organizing and developing the overall operation of the dietary department in accordance with current state, federal, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This position is responsible for ensuring that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis, and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Responsibilities
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Culinary Department, its programs, policies and activities.
Work with the dietitian to provide quality nutritional services.
Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
Ensure that appropriate levels of food supplies are available.
Order supplies in a cost-effective and cost-efficient manner, as needed.
Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately and, in conjunction with the Administrator, order replacement equipment, as necessary.
Assist in the supervision of the culinary service personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1+ years of related experience in a food service department; experience in a long-term or health care facility preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide culinary services appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents.
Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
Good leadership skills.
Good computer skills.
Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering excellent, passionate, innovative care.
