About the Firm: The Law Office of Karen J. Crawford PLLC has proudly served our clients for 25 years. Built on a foundation of integrity, compassion, and strong client relationships, we have become a trusted name in the community. Our practice focuses on family-based immigration including waivers and post-removal work, citizenship and naturalization, and humanitarian work such as asylum, cancellation of removal, TPS, and U and T visas. We are a client-focused practice focused on access to quality representation, and eagerly take on challenging, nuanced cases. We also encourage our staff to engage in pro bono representation and community education.

The Opportunity: We are seeking an attorney who can take over the managing attorney’s caseload, which includes a mix of family based, humanitarian, and removal defense cases. We are seeking someone who would like to be part of a firm deeply rooted in its community.

Key Responsibilities:

Meet with clients in our office to advise on the case and prepare case strategies, including complex strategies for clients with complicated cases

Prepare applications/petitions for immigration benefits and affidavits

Perform legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

Help clients navigate the immigration system, whether with USCIS, the Consulates, or EOIR

Attend interviews and court hearings in San Antonio to represent clients

Supervise and train paralegals and staff

Collaborate with current owner and senior attorney to run the business side of the firm, with a goal to increase firm management responsibilities over time

Bar admission

: Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of any state in the U.S. A Texas license, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred but not required.

Experience

: We are seeking a person with 5 years of relevant immigration law and/or policy experience. Some federal court litigation experience is preferred but not required.
