Position Overview Denim Designer

to join our New York–based design team. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in denim design, combining creative vision with technical expertise. This role is hands‑on and fast‑paced, driving the denim design process from concept through final production while delivering trend‑right, high‑quality product aligned with brand direction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop seasonal denim concepts, mood boards, and wash direction

Create CADs, line sheets, BOMs, and detailed tech packs using Adobe Illustrator

Manage denim wash and finish development, including lab dips, strike‑offs, and sample approvals

Partner with Technical Design on fittings, specs, and product consistency

Source and evaluate denim fabrics and trims; communicate technical feedback to mills

Collaborate with overseas factories on costing, production feasibility, and timelines

Maintain and organize physical and digital denim wash archives

Ensure all proto, sample, and market deadlines are met

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field

5–8+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on women’s denim

In‑depth knowledge of denim fabrications, garment construction, fit, and wash processes

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; strong Excel skills

Proven experience creating accurate CADs, tech packs, and BOMs

Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities

Experience in wholesale apparel, contemporary, or off‑price markets preferred

PLM experience (Simparel a plus)

Strong portfolio demonstrating denim expertise and creative vision
