Overview
First Citizens Bank has an incredible opportunity for a Sales Support Specialist (Commercial Lending Assistant). We are hiring banking professionals who have had proven success in their past careers, are self‑motivated, and possess strong relationship building skills. This role is an integral part of our team, partnering with Commercial and/or Business Banking groups in the sales, servicing and management of clients and loan portfolios.
Responsibilities
Ongoing Sales Support:
Provide ongoing sales support to Lenders, including identifying sales and cross‑sell opportunities, coordinating materials for presentations, setting up sales calls, maintaining prospect lists, and making joint calls as needed.
Documentation Support:
Originate, process, and ensure accuracy of loan documentation for closings. This includes entering financial information into the loan system and ensuring that all necessary documentation is included in the loan package prior to closing.
Ongoing Credit Servicing Support:
Resolve documentation exception issues, maintain service levels, update financial statements, and prepare files for all portfolio reviews. Run reports to track maturing lines/loans and service levels.
Monitoring of Past‑Due Credits:
Communicate, report, and follow up on portfolio past dues to ensure they remain current, while maintaining customer contact.
Ongoing Customer Service/Office Support:
Coordinate opening of deposit and other banking services with branch partners. Handle customer requests for information and problem resolution.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED with 4 years experience in sales, customer service, or operations OR
Bachelor’s Degree with experience in sales, customer service, or operations
Additional Requirements:
❗ Must have 1+ years of experience supporting real estate lending (commercial or residential)
Strong working knowledge of:
Loan processing and documentation
Escrows and/or titles
Clearing conditions
Coordinating closings
Must be highly organized and able to multitask effectively
Preferred Skills :
Construction lending experience is a big plus
(draws, budgets, lien waivers, etc.)
Prior experience as a Bank Teller or Universal Banker
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Professional written and verbal communication skills
