Inside Front and Back Parts Sales

An inside part salesperson at our dealership must excel in customer service, ensuring every
interaction is positive and professional. Attention to detail is crucial for accurately identifying

Essential Duties
Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
Provides high level of service to internal and external customers
Pulls and fills orders from stock
Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order if necessary
Follows up on back-ordered parts
Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required
Replenishes assigned inventory daily
Assists outside sales representatives with their orders
Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer
Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice
Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified
Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
Solicits assigned accounts by phone
Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered
Participates in company required training
Keeps current on new products and product updates
Participates with the manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program
Maintains a professional appearance
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent communication skills required
Work Environment This position requires consistent exposure to a warehouse and shop environment, which may not always be climate controlled. Employees must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods. The parts department environment includes exposure to moving parts, electrical currents, grease, chemicals, dust, dirt, and various weather elements. Candidates must efficiently navigate the workspace and handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds for extended periods. Adherence to safety protocols is essential to mitigate risks associated with these exposures. This role demands physical stamina and keen awareness of surroundings to ensure personal and team safety. Additionally, this position involves frequent travel for meetings at various locations. While a CDL license is advantageous for roles within our Dealership and Leasing Operations, it is not mandatory. We adhere to DOT regulations to ensure compliance and utilize a CDL license if available. Depending on the role, operating a heavy-duty truck within property restrictions may be required.
