Brief Job Overview The Technical Sales Specialist will serve as a subject‑matter expert in facilitating support related to USP Microbiology products and their use. Responsibilities include providing expertise to resolve technical questions, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, engaging in inside sales activities, and managing customer inquiries via CRM.

Responsibilities

Manage and help resolve customer, distributor, and USP colleague inquiries via email, video call, and phone.

Ensure department efficiencies, including customer response time and issue resolution.

Conduct inside sales activities to drive product adoption.

Assist in developing front‑line support tools and training material for new customers and employees.

Assist with support‑related lab work and hands‑on training of USP Microbiology products.

Generate customer‑facing technical documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, user guides, and application notes.

Support QA, marketing, sales, and other teams with technical expertise.

Collaborate with business development, marketing, and product development teams to contribute to continuous product improvement.

Maintain critical customer data using CRM software tools (Salesforce).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related life science field with 5–7 years of technical sales, application specialist, or QC microbiology lab experience; or Master’s degree with 3–5 years of such experience.

Microbiology working knowledge and expertise from technical or laboratory experiences.

Outstanding problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.

Excellent relationship‑building, verbal, and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and urgency in responding to customers.

Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Capacity to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment with independent judgment.

Strong teamwork.

Proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Preferences

Microbiology laboratory experience and/or experience in pharmaceutical industry.

Experience with microbiology QC testing in GMP environment.

Experience with environmental monitoring, disinfectant qualification/validation/efficacy testing, growth promotion testing, bioburden testing, sterility testing, or rapid microbiology methods.

3+ years of experience in pharma/biopharma microbiology QA/QC.

Advanced degree or certifications in microbiology‑related field.

Supervisory Responsibilities None; this is an individual contributor role.

Compensation Base Salary Range: USD $73,400.00 – $93,300.00 annually. Target Annual Bonus: Variable according to role level.
