Job Summary
$18-23 DOE. P & M Steel Company is a custom steel fabricator in Sioux Falls, seeking a Fabricator to create structural steel products such as beams and columns by operating machine shop equipment and welding under the supervision of the Fabrication Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Lays out, positions and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the fabrication supervisor.
Accurately reports time tracking for project costs.
Communicates progress status to fabrication supervisor for scheduling.
Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Accepts frequent supervision and assistance from the fabrication supervisor.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing‑related experience.
Welding certification (preferred).
Ability to read and understand blueprints (preferred).
Attention to detail.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Associate’s degree in welding (preferred).

Physical Requirements Employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Schedule Monday through Thursday, 10-hour day shift. Overtime as needed.
