# **Job Description Summary & Additional Information****Job Description:**The Admissions Specialist will assist the Enrollment Manager in recruiting students and processing applications to the School of Music.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* serving as the first point of contact for enrollment services inquiries;* monitoring/returning phone calls on admissions and personal UMD phone line;* managing the admissions shared email and voicemail inbox;* reviewing and updating communications flow and form response messaging;* coordinating events throughout the admissions season by recruiting student volunteers and maintaining faculty availability/RSVPs;* overseeing the CAPA Music Student Ambassador Program;* coordinating student admissions staff schedules, assignments, and training;* traveling to recruitment fairs, schools, and colleges; including efforts to build relationships with local and regional music teachers, school counselors, and music teacher organizations, such as MMEA, ACDA, NAFME, etc.;* coordinating College Fair and Conference registrations, materials, and logistics;* arranging and leading tours and information sessions for prospective students and parents;* completing other projects as needed to assist the enrollment team.**Minimum Qualifications:**Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in music or arts administration. One year of work experience in an academic and/or arts-related environment. Student employment is acceptable. Ability to speak well and present information clearly to students, parents, and teachers; strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize competing demands; ability to work well with faculty and staff; computer skills required in database management, reporting, and mail merges.**Preferences:**Preference for a degree in Music/Arts/Arts Administration; Knowledge of music performance and literature.**Required Application Materials:**Cover letter, CV, Names and contact information for three (3) professional references.**Best Consideration Date:** January 30, 2026**Posting Close Date:** NA**Open Until Filled:** Yes# **Minimum Qualifications**EDUCATION: Bachelor's DegreeEXPERIENCE: Four years experience in administrative staff work.OTHER:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Working knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data and information, working knowledge of analytical and statistical principles and techniques. Skill in the use of office automation software and its applications, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, to handle sensitive materials with discretion and tact, to present ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; to perform mathematical computations; to present statistical material in chart and graph form.
