Summary:
The School-based Counselor (SBA) is responsible for developing and facilitating the social, personal, and academic development of youth, adolescents, and teenagers via motivational interviewing and other selective individual and group counseling methods and frameworks. The SBA serves as a guide and mentor who assists youth with setting and achieving their individualized academic, personal, and vocational goals. Additionally, they assist in school based Wellness Center administrative tasks including outreach, referral, and intake system management. They are often the first point of contact for the Wellness Center and a school liaison.
