Service Desk Technician

Entry Level | Hybrid | Full-Time

Position Overview The Service Desk Technician provides front-line support for customer technical issues, assisting users through phone, chat, and ticketing systems. This role focuses on gathering information, performing initial troubleshooting, documenting issues, and ensuring timely resolution. Strong customer service skills are essential, as the technician will interact with users across various communication channels. Technical experience is helpful but not required for candidates with strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to customer inquiries by phone, chat, and self‑service ticket submissions.

Gather details, document issues, and perform initial troubleshooting steps.

Manage an individual ticket queue and ensure timely follow‑up and resolution.

Maintain accurate and complete records of all support interactions.

Stay up to date on products, services, and procedures through training and documentation.

Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional, helpful demeanor.

Required Qualifications

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Experience in phone-based or email-based support environments is a plus.

Familiarity with ticketing systems and basic computer applications.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

One to two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

Flexibility in scheduling when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

IT support experience.

Certifications such as A+ (preferred but not required).

Experience in a contact center or service desk environment.

History working with Windows-based systems.

IT-related education or coursework.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule (three days on site).

Standard business hours, Monday‑Friday.

Collaborative team environment with opportunities for skill development.

Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00/hr.
