About the Role We are seeking a detail‑oriented
Survey CAD Technician
to support the production of high‑quality survey deliverables. In this role, you will transform field data and design instructions into precise CAD drawings, coordinate data workflows, and work closely with field crews and project management teams. Your work will directly contribute to the accuracy, clarity, and efficiency of our deliverables across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Produce precise survey deliverables using
Carlson CAD
and
Bluebeam .
Coordinate data flow between estimating, surveying, and project management teams.
Prepare and manage survey as‑built data for client deliverables and project documentation.
Compare field data with design quantities to assist with scheduling, logistics, and project planning.
Maintain a positive, professional, team‑oriented attitude while working with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with
CAD (computer‑aided design)
drafting.
Experience with
Carlson Survey
software and
Trimble Business Center
preferred.
Ability to perform basic calculations and analyze field data sets.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Education & Experience
Solid construction background with experience in
3D design .
Experience handling and interpreting survey data, including
utility as‑built data .
3–5 years
of relevant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to
80 lbs
and push/pull up to
50 lbs .
Ability to work in
all weather conditions
as needed.
Ability to work in an office setting for extended periods (computer use, sitting).
Physical strength, balance, and stamina to work safely in varied terrain.
