The Employee Relations Specialist supports Nintendo’s leaders, employees, and HR teams by managing the organization’s most sensitive and complex people matters. They focus on resolving workplace concerns, conducting fair and consistent investigations, helping to guide leaders on policy application, and strengthening compliance across the organization.
This is a limited term position through December 2027.
THE SR EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST ROLE Are you passionate about fostering a fair, inclusive, and high‑trust workplace where employees and leaders feel supported, respected, and empowered? Our Sr Employee Relations Specialist will play a pivotal role in strengthening organizational effectiveness by building a deep, nuanced understanding of our culture, workforce needs, and operational realities. Grounded in this insight, they will lead and execute a comprehensive, enterprise‑wide approach to employee relations that includes investigations, conflict resolution, accommodations, policy development, and proactive risk mitigation.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Oversees and manages a comprehensive employee relations strategy grounded in deep understanding of the business, workforce needs, and evolving employment practices.
Leads and conducts impartial, high‑quality workplace investigations into complex and sensitive issues including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations.
Partners closely with Legal and HR Business Partners to ensure consistent, fair, and compliant interpretation of policies, processes, and employment and labor laws.
Facilitates conflict resolution and provides employee relations coaching and advisory support to HRBPs, leaders, and employees to strengthen performance, accountability, and workplace relationships.
Collects, analyzes, and synthesizes case data, workplace trends, employee feedback, and business insights to identify systemic risks and opportunities for organizational improvement.
Leads the development, updates, and communication of workplace policies, employee handbooks, and conduct standards to ensure clarity, compliance, and consistent application.
Designs and delivers training, tools, and educational resources on ER‑related topics including investigations, policy interpretation, manager capability, and workplace best practices.
Ensures excellence in documentation, change management, and stakeholder communication to drive adoption of ER practices, support compliance, and strengthen leadership expectations.
Leverages strong relationships, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of organizational needs to anticipate issues and influence thoughtful, risk‑sensitive decision making.
Collaborates across HR functions including HR Business Partners, Talent, Total Rewards, and Legal to ensure integrated, consistent, and employee‑centered solutions.
Contributes to broader HR strategy and cross‑functional initiatives, sharing insights and supporting enterprise‑wide programs that enhance engagement, culture, and equity.
Continuously expands knowledge of employee relations, labor trends, employment law, and organizational dynamics; equips HR and business leaders with current best practices and guidance.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
5‑7+ years of progressive experience supporting employee relations, HRBP, investigations, or related HR functions.
Expert‑level experience conducting fair, objective, and comprehensive workplace investigations involving sensitive, complex, or high‑impact matters.
Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, compliance frameworks, and employee relations best practices across multiple states.
Demonstrated ability to independently assess, manage, and resolve complex and ambiguous workplace issues with broad organizational impact.
Proven ability to develop, communicate, and implement employee relations strategies, policies, tools, and programs that drive consistency and support organizational goals.
Exceptional consultation, communication, conflict‑resolution, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including experience synthesizing trends, case data, and stakeholder input to inform strategy and recommendations.
High level of discretion, empathy, integrity, and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple demands while delivering high‑quality work in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency with HR systems, case management tools, and standard business software (e.g., UKG, Microsoft Office, Copilot, Convercent).
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes a base salary range of $105,300 - $168,500 annually, potential for a semi‑annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
