Compensation:$140,000 - $160,000 + monthly bonus potential

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Custom made simple is what we strive for at The Shade Store—and the Market Sales Manager plays a critical role in unlocking the full potential of one ofour most complex and high-opportunity markets: Los AngelesMetro Area. The Market Sales Manager works closely with the VP of Field Sales, Regional Sales Director, and directly with Design Consultants to drive sales performance, support company initiatives, and ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience across the market. This role is designed for markets that require deeper sales leadership, larger team oversight, and greater individual volume.
In addition to managing a complex, high-performing market, the Market Sales Manager is leveraged to support regional initiatives, pilots, and strategic priorities, acting as a trusted extension of regional leadership while holding teams and self-accountable to delivering on KPIs. This role blends high-level long-term thinking and market-tailored initiatives, with hands‑on‑leadership, strong sales focus, operational execution, and cross‑functional partnership.
WORK ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Delivering Market Sales Performance
Own overall sales performance for the market, with accountability for volume, growth, and execution against goals
Utilize KPIs and market insights to identify customer trends, opportunities, and risks; translate findings into clear actions
Shift sales focus as needed based on market trends, customer behavior, and trade dynamics
Develop and implement market‑tailored initiatives that address unique customer expectations and unlock incremental revenue
Partner with Showroom teams to drive promotional execution, high‑value quote follow‑up, and pipeline health
Eliminate obstacles to driving sales by providing day‑to‑day support to Design Consultants
Actively engage with the Trade audience—designers, architects, builders—strengthening relationships and identifying local needs for events, activations, collateral, and support
Identify and cultivate local partnerships and collaborations that expand brand presence and drive high value opportunities
Collaborate with Measure, Install, Operations, and Corporate partners to support customer demand and service delivery
Evaluates market‑level staffing needs and propose tailored staffing models to optimize coverage and business outcomes
Lead and support a larger, higher‑volume population of Design Consultants across multiple showrooms, ensuring a balanced mix of talent aligned to market needs
Play an active role in hiring, onboarding, and ramping Design Consultants in partnership with HR and Regional leadership
Build strong bench strength and support long‑term talent development within the market
Set clear expectations around performance, behaviors, and accountability while reinforcing The Shade Store standards
Conduct regular check‑ins, pipeline reviews, and performance conversations focused on sales effectiveness and growth
Monitor dashboards and reporting to ensure a healthy pipeline of active projects
Partner with HR and Senior Leadership in managing escalated or complex performance situations
Supporting Regional & Company Initiatives
Serve as a key partner by supporting company initiatives, pilots, and enterprise priorities
Act as a launch leader within the market for new programs, tools, or processes, tailoring rollout approaches to the unique needs of the market
Provide consistent, actionable feedback on initiatives, pilots, and market-specific challenges
Identify and share best practices and trends that may positively impact the broader field
Establish strong relationships with Corporate partners to ensure alignment and execution
Support trade initiatives and participate in market and regional events that establish The Shade Store as a local leader
Showroom & Brand Standards
Ensure showroom standards, brand presentation, and customer experience expectations are consistently met
Reinforce a customer‑first mindset while balancing sales and operational priorities, and market‑specific needs
Support local events, trade partnerships, and community engagement opportunities
CORE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Ability to lead sales performance in a high-volume, complex market
Strong business acumen with comfort using data, reporting, and KPIs to guide decisions
Demonstrates a collaborative, solutions‑oriented leadership style
Ability to assess market dynamics and proactively adjust strategies
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Action‑oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in a multi‑unit or high‑volume environment
Demonstrated success managing larger teams and complex markets
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working with dashboards and performance reporting
