Computer Operator / AutoCAD Acuren is seeking a Computer Operator/AutoCAD for operations in the Kingsport, TN area. The role requires willingness to work in the field as an NDT helper.

The AutoCAD 2D/3D Operator will develop detailed design models, drawings and specifications for piping and vessels to required technical quality, convert field ISO sketches into AutoCAD, and enter technical data into the mechanical integrity data management system.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings and related data to assess factors affecting the structure of piping and vessels, and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

Utilize 3D laser scan point cloud data to generate 3D models, 2D isometrics, perform P&ID/PFD validation.

Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions concerning results.

Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings from sketches, notes and other input materials.

Review contract documents with team members and check drawings for accuracy and coordination.

Work at client’s facilities to gather information visually and with measuring equipment.

Enter provided data into the mechanical integrity data management system.

Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

2‑year degree in Mechanical Drafting, CAD, or related discipline.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in industrial drafting.

Proficiency in various CAD platforms (AutoCAD, Plant3D, CadWorx, etc.).

Working knowledge of relevant aspects of commercial planning and design.

Experience with CAD operation related to pressure vessels and piping.

Knowledge of API codes and other related NDT principles.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Proficiency with computer editing software, Photoshop, etc.

Must be able to pass drug/alcohol and background screening per client requirements.
