Manager, Career Engagement Position Summary: This position reports to the Director of the MBA/MSBA Career Management Center (CMC) focusing on career coaching, career programming, and selected special initiatives to benefit the MSBA, FMBA and Pathway MBA Programs. Responsibilities include student coaching, career programming, collaboration with corporate engagement staff, and special initiatives.

Responsibilities

Student Career Coaching & Advisement

– Provide comprehensive student coaching and advising beginning in the summer before matriculation and continuing throughout the academic term. Assess and improve interview readiness, career goal setting and cultivate appropriate networks. Provide coaching through one‑on‑one appointments and small groups for special topics. Develop and implement measures for student assessment and accountability. (60%)

Career Programming

– Establish and evaluate MBA & MSBA pre‑term career foundations by posting assignments, monitoring progress and assisting students who are not successfully completing assignments. Design and facilitate workshops, panels, and events focused on career readiness topics such as personal branding, LinkedIn optimization, and industry trends. Engage with students to foster success and assist in attaining employment outcomes. Create and update content for career resource libraries, online tools, newsletters, and student guides. Track student engagement, job placement data, and key career milestones; provide insights for reporting and continuous improvement. (20%)

Special Initiatives

– Explore and develop new avenues to expand students’ career options and networking abilities. Provide vision and leadership for this initiative as well as other student experiences that differentiate the Full‑Time MBA and MS in Business Analytics Programs. Research external job postings to identify trends in skills and qualifications. Investigate supplemental programming to address gaps in curricula. Develop strategies for addressing skill gaps to enhance workforce readiness. Perform routine benchmarking of peer programs to provide recommendations for improvement. (15%)

Other duties as assigned – (5%)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience (minimum).

Preferred: Master’s in business or analytics or related field and experience in higher education career services.

Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to research, identify relationships among academic disciplines, compile research from multiple sources, and understand interrelationship between academic programs and employer needs.

Ability to effectively interact with corporate executives, alumni, faculty, and staff for the purpose of promoting recruitment and hiring of MBA and MSBA students.

Proficiency in using MS Office, learning management systems, and data analysis tools.

Other Information Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; other duties may require travel.

Salary: $55,000‑$60,000 plus commensurate with experience.
