Commercial, Technology & Data Associate

What you’ll do
Work as part of a motivated and supportive team, advising a wide range of high quality national and regional clients including household names and highly successful national and international businesses
Advise technology suppliers and scale up businesses on the launch of their products and services (in particular AI and SaaS services) and help negotiate complex technology contracts with customers
Work with users of technology in key sectors, for example Retail & Consumer, Islamic Finance and Energy & Infrastructure on the implementation of technology projects / technology procurement (e.g. assisting with outsourcing, cloud services, software licensing)
Have the opportunity to work on complex data protection and cybersecurity projects including data protection compliance audits, DPIAs, complex data subject access requests, data processing arrangements and international data transfers. You will also be involved in working on, and delivering to clients, our award winning data breach preparedness product "BreachReddi"
Advising on strategic uses of data such as database optimisation, the monetisation of customer databases and marketing strategies
Support our market leading corporate and private equity sector on commercial, technology and data aspects of corporate/ PE transactions (including assisting with due diligence on major deals and negotiating transitional services arrangements) often working alongside City and US firms as part of our co-counsel model
What we’re looking for
Brings experience as a Commercial, Technology and Data Associate, ideally at 2 years PQE+ who has gained exposure to a wide variety of commercial matters with a focus on technology and data protection, possessing a genuine passion for this area of law
Is able to demonstrate a positive and pragmatic approach to finding the right solutions to meet a client's business needs
Is a strong communicator with good rapport building skills and the resilience to work under pressure with an ability to forge lasting relationships with clients
Is keen to create opportunities to further enhance their profile and that of the firm by engaging with a variety of business development opportunities
