The Prep Cook will assist the Chef/Kitchen Manager in preparing food for all food outlets on the property and processing checkout for food orders. Cook will also perform other related tasks to food preparation and kitchen sanitation/cleanliness as directed by the Chef/Kitchen Manager. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines established by the Food Service and Safety Department.
Compensation: $17.50 - $18.50
The Food Preparer is responsible for preparing various food products
Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation
Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product daily
Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed: wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies
Cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment
Ability to perform any other duties as assigned by Department Manager
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather. Noise level is moderate.
