Job Summary As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. As a team leader you will ensure the work environment is positive and productive. Through a continuous learning environment you will stay current on the products we sell and articulate our purpose in a manner that is educational, insightful and professional. Duties and Responsibilities

Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.

Ask questions and listen to customer needs.

Direct customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.

Provide premier customer service.

Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships, taking accountability for your own actions and outcomes.

Maintain store appearance.

Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.

Suggest products and promotions based on individual customer needs.

Upsell products.

Learn product features, keep up with latest trends, and leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge.

Use a Point‑of‑Sale system: process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit and debit cards, and handle cash, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.

Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.

Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes, and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed; may participate in periodic inventories.

Ensure security of cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory.

Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects and tasks, and managing merchandise and inventory.

Adhere to assigned work schedule.

Follow through on work assignments accurately and completely.

Provide effective leadership, demonstrating the ability to direct, train, and motivate associates, and set a positive example.

Coach and give feedback to associates promptly and professionally.

Train sales associates and provide input to the Department Manager on associate performance.

Possibly open and close locations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Product Knowledge: Moderate level of knowledge of merchandise.

Provide training documentation to sales associates on product features.

Experience: 1‑2 years of retail or relevant work experience; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective on the telephone with proper etiquette.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions and ability to calculate percentages and ratios; must be able to make change in American monetary units.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remain flexible to the needs of the business.

Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.

Conflict Management: Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.

Physical Demands This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.

Work Hours Available to work a variety of hours which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

General Experience 1 year responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work that demonstrates ability to perform satisfactorily in this position.

Specialized Experience 1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing duties that constitute the principal work of this position.

Education Substitution College or university study above high school level may substitute on the basis of one‑half academic year of study for six months of experience. At any level, specialized experience may substitute for required general experience.
