Role - Senior Tax Associate
Salary - $115,000-$140,000
Location - NYC
Job Description -
We are seeking a seasoned tax professional to join a dynamic finance team supporting both corporate and partnership entities. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for tax accounting and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare income tax provisions, disclosures, and footnotes in compliance with US GAAP (ASC 740).
Calculate multi-state and local taxes, including flow-through entity requirements.
Record and reconcile monthly tax journal entries for various entity types.
Assist in preparing quarterly tax estimates and review external tax filings.
Manage gross receipts taxes and other recurring tax payments.
Maintain documentation for deferred taxes, payable/receivable balances, and other tax accounts.
Collaborate with external accounting advisors on tax return filings and allocations.
Support equity compensation programs with quarterly tax distributions.
Handle state and federal notices, including preparing data and drafting responses for audits.
Perform financial analysis and support ad hoc tax projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA or EA preferred).
5–7 years of tax experience, preferably including Big 4 or public accounting exposure.
Experience with both corporate and partnership taxation, including flow-through entities.
Strong understanding of ASC 740 and US tax compliance requirements.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with tax modeling or automation is a plus.
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to research complex tax issues.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and eager to expand knowledge across tax disciplines.
