Responsibilities
Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap, strengthening pharmacy performance through coaching and follow‑up.
Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation.
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the team in compassionate care and resolving insurance or medication issues.
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
Support inventory management by coaching the pharmacy team on best practices, especially for cold‑chain products.
Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating concerns as needed.
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, supporting the Pharmacy Manager in scheduling as directed.
Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services.
Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles and CVS Health policies, especially regarding controlled substances, privacy and security.
Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
Essential Functions
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
Attention and Focus
Concentrate on tasks for extended periods.
Pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
Confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
Customer Service and Team Orientation
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately.
Communication Skills
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
Utilize active listening, giving full attention, asking questions, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Mathematical Reasoning
Use math to solve problems such as determining total tablets, day's supply, or number of bottles needed.
Issue Resolution
Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
Physical Demands
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead and stretch as needed.
Move fingers repetitively; perform precision adjustments on machines.
Stoop and lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally; lift up to 10 lbs. frequently.
Communicate ideas verbally with clarity; receive detailed information orally.
Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is:
$65.00 – $81.00
This range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and additional relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
