This position requires a blend of analytical expertise and sound judgment, as the Credit Review Officer evaluates the creditworthiness of borrowers, ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES***The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.** Conducts comprehensive credit analysis for loan requests, including reviewing financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other relevant documentation.* Collaborates with loan officers to clarify borrower details, addresses potential concerns, ensures a thorough understanding of each borrower's unique circumstances and makes recommendations on appropriate loan structure and terms.* Prepares detailed underwriting reports that summarize findings and recommendations for senior management and credit committees.* Collaborates with loan officers and other stakeholders to provide insights and guidance on credit policies and procedures.* Remains up to date on banking regulations changes, as well as industry trends and economic factors that impact underwriting and risk practices.* Participates with loan officers on calls or site visits with prospects or customers. Represents the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business.* Performs a variety of tasks including projects as requested by the Credit Review Manager. Projects routinely require a wide degree of creativity and latitude.* Takes part in training and mentoring of other department team members and support staff.* Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow-through with involved customers and employees.* Embraces change, acting as an advocate and role model and promoting a mindset of continuous improvement.* Other duties as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS***These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory* *performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.** Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required. Accounting or Finance degree strongly preferred.* 2+ years of direct commercial underwriter, credit analyst and/or financial analyst experience required.* Proven track record in analyzing and underwriting all types of loans for both C&I and CRE borrowers.* Strong proficiency in financial analysis including but not limited to balance sheet and income statement analysis, tax return analysis, cash flow analysis (both C&I and CRE).* Familiarity with financial spreading software. Optional, but advantageous for experience with Moody’s CreditLens and Bukers Taxanalysis.* Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices.* Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial statements, tax returns, and other business-related documents in detail.* Ability to always maintain a high degree of ethical standards and complete confidentiality.* Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.* Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.* Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.* Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.* Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.**BANK SECRECY ACT (BSA)**All employees of Vantage Bank Texas, herein referenced to as the “Bank”, must comply with the terms of the BSA Policy upon acceptance of this position.
