JOB SUMMARY
The Direct Care Worker will provide care to individuals with special needs in a Day program setting. The position entails providing social interaction, behavior management, personal care, assisting with ADLs and communication skills. Job Duties / Expectations
Develop positive relationships and support Assist individuals to meet their physical needs such as hygiene needs, health, and safety needs. Assist individuals in participating in social activities and group outings Provide training and supervision for individuals to increase social and adaptive skills Provide opportunities for social interactions, to assist individuals develop appropriate social skills Implement and assist individuals to attain their identified goals Assist individuals to develop, maintain, and enhance independent functioning skills Implement daily curriculum schedule Perform special projects with individuals in a safe manner as directed by lead staff / management Maintain accurate daily data collection on individual progress reports and behavior treatment plans Provide safe transportation for individuals daily Maintain compliance with Division of Developmental Disabilities policies and procedures Be willing to take the required training classes and maintain current certifications Always maintain professionalism while representing the organization Can initiate tasks necessary to run program efficiently Possess good social communication skills QUALIFICATIONS
To function effectively in this position, the incumbent must possess or obtain or successfully complete : High School Diploma or G.E.D. Knowledge of the company policies and procedures Valid Arizona Driver’s License Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Completed Criminal History Affidavit Reliable means of transportation with current insurance and registration Article 9 Training Certification in Adult / Child / Infant CPR, and First Aid The DSW must have the ability to address more than one project at a time while prioritizing the demands and issues in a busy operating environment. Must be at least 18 years of age.
