This is where YOU fit in: Navy Exchange-Naval Base Kitsap is in need of a

Micro Market Associate

to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involve stocking Micro Markets, and assisting customer’s onboard Naval Base Kitsap. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families.

Typical Day

Maintains Exchange owned Micro markets daily, performing inspections and replenishing products.

Greets and engages with customers in selection of merchandise.

Collects money from vending machines, micro market kiosks or other miscellaneous machines.

Turn-in money bags daily from Cash Handling Clerks after counting and verifying cash receipts.

Operates motor vehicle in the performance of the duties.

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must possess a valid state driver’s license and pass a pre‑employment criminal & motor vehicle background check (e.g., Federal, DOD, Security Clearance).

Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties.

Must pass the GSA defensive driving course.

Physical Requirements

Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

Occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or with material handling equipment.

Regular walking, bending and reaching are required.

Work is performed both inside and outside; may be exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle.

Drives in all types of bad weather and is subject to cuts or bruises.

Job Requirements

Must possess a valid state driver licence or valid commercial driver licence (CDL).

Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Must be able to pass appropriate background checks needed for the specific area of responsibility (e.g., Federal, DOD, Security Clearance).

Must Pass the GSA defensive driving course.

MQRs waived per District Manager.

Experience

One year progressive responsible clerical office or retail sales work of any kind, demonstrating ability to interact with customers.

Half‑year of academic study above high school level may substitute for each 6 months of general experience requirement.

One year of progressively responsible experience in the fundamentals of retail, including retail sales services, vending store operations, and warehouse activities.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or material handling equipment. Regular walking, bending and reaching are required.
