As a Freight Broker at OpenRoad Global, you will be responsible for overseeing your own book of business by selling our industry-leading services to new and existing customers, building relationships with strategic carrier partners, and managing the entire shipment lifecycle in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Our top Freight Brokers have a passion for the supply chain and logistics industry, excel in working independently and collaboratively, and know how to leverage the full scale of the OpenRoad brand to attract, retain, and optimize business. You are a go-getter with a team player attitude.
Qualifications
Established book of business preferred At least 2 years of experience in sales and/or customer service in the supply chain and logistics industry Excellent verbal and written communication Have a sense of urgency, self-confidence, passion, open-mindedness, and commitment to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer Status Full-time Responsibilities
Identify prospects utilizing lead sourcing tools, web search engines, personal networking, industry publications, etc. Utilize research skills to prepare for sales calls and identify decision makers Cold call leads Research and understand market trends, industry standards, and localized environments to provide accurate quotes/pricing Build relationships with existing and new carrier partners, negotiate rates for each shipment, and provide clear communication with the drivers hauling our freight, ensuring they have the proper equipment and are a positive reflection of OpenRoad Verify and enter load information into TMS with accuracy and speed Audit load information for accuracy and completion, making updates as needed Track and trace shipments Work closely with accounting department to resolve internal discrepancies Interested?
